Welcome to the Somerset Cider Brandy Company and Burrow Hill Cider. Our farm in Somerset sits amongst 180 acres of cider apple orchards at the base of Burrow Hill. The farm has been pressing cider for over 200 years. In 1989 our farm obtained the UK’s first artisan distillery licence. We have been distilling some of our award winning cider into Somerset Cider Brandy ever since.

Our Story

Our family run  farm at Burrow Hill is committed to preserving the traditional orchards of Somerset and their cider making heritage. We are also home to the UK’s first commercial artisan distillery which  is dedicated to  reviving the ancient craft of Somerset Cider Brandy production.

Apples and orchards

"Cider has been made in England since ancient times, the skills to make it brought here with the Norman invasion. The terroir; the ecology and climate around Kingsbury Episcopi and Burrow Hill  lends itself so naturally to fermenting apples."
